Self-Care during Lockdown

Give yourself the much-needed break that you always wished for. This unfortunate situation has given us a chance to embrace a different kind of rhythm. Just relax for a while and enjoy every little thing at a gentler pace

Though all these sudden changes can be overwhelming, dedicate it to better use like: learn something new, watch or read something uplifting, try some arts and crafts, catch-up on a favourite series, or anything else that gives you light relief

  • Reach out to your loved ones - It is usually a little hard to always stay connected with our loved ones, so probably this is the best time to reach out to them. Share your experiences about what you’re going through to ensure you feel supported and connected. There are plenty of ways to spend time with your family and friends, even if you can't meet in person. For example; get creative and make plans in advance about activities to do together e.g. watching a film, playing a game, online yoga/meditation classes together, etc
  • Have a nutritious homemade meal - Having a healthy and balanced meal is not only important for immune health but also helps to cope-up with stressful times. Indulge yourself in the art of cooking and embrace the joy that it brings to you. Cook yourself a healthy balanced meal full of nutrition. Try different healthy recipes that include lots of fresh vegetables and distinct fruits. Get all your cravings fulfilled
  • Stay active - As we all want to nourish our minds, it’s important to take care of our physical health as well. It’s essential to stay active during such times that can easily make us drift into a state of lethargy and idleness. Start self-care routine by taking some time to figure out what type(s) of exercise you find most beneficial, to suit desired fitness levels
  • Keep a Routine - Staying indoors all the time can easily make us feel de-motivated. We must create some kind of routine during these challenging times. Creating our schedule will help us to keep ourselves active, busy & balanced and will give a feeling of security & purpose
